Flip the bird to your senior management next week and afford yourself the annual pleasure of Arkhive’s Thursday night Christmas Party @ The Horse and Groom, 20th December 7pm till late.

There’ll be an elegant sufficiency of decorations, Arkhive resident DJs, inappropriate Christmas behaviour and the spiced scents of the Horsie’s famous mulled wine.

All states of dress (and undress) are encouraged – be they as classic as Santa’s Hat or as misguided as a lounge suit. Bells, baubles, tinsel or trees, all we’re saying is get involved and in the spirit.

Arkhive: sticking it to Scrooge.

Reel People’s decade of remixes, including a brand new Layabouts version of Butterflies has been released as part of their 10 Years Of Soulful Bliss compilation. Here’s one from a couple of years back, with “the saviour of US house” Dennis Ferrer remixing the classic Alibi. 

There exists a type of tune that reappears every so often and is duly saluted for its sheer genius and timeless cool. New York house god Quentin Harris’ version of Donnie’s soul anthem “Cloud 9″ is for me, most proudly part of this group.

He’s even been so kind to enable the download of the full-length MP3, so do yourselves a favour and download for a good ol’ weak-at-the-knees soulful experience.
